#340-2026 Apr 01 – Be Funny When You’re Out of Gas

Back on track.  The DC this morning was about levity and having humour in your life.  Looking at things with levity instead of letting them “get to you” is the topic of this sit.  The practice helps you identify those things that you might have reacted to but could have looked at with a humorous approach.  Maybe you sent your boss a text meant for your partner that included hearts and eggplant emojis.  Instead of thinking the world just crashed down on you, find the humour in it with the humility.  The DT today was about being “out of gas” and feeling like you don’t have the energy for a sit.  However, this practice shows you that meditation shouldn’t require any energy and it should be used to just accept and acknowledge what is here and now.  If that means you are “out of gas” then you are here for it.  You accept it and because you are doing that then you are practicing self compassion.  This meditation is easy and great at any time.  The DJ was all about listening deeply and working the skill of being present in someone’s communications to you.  Hearing them before speaking to them.  Being present in practice helps being present off the mat.
