SIT #330-2026 Mar 22 – Stress Distraction Anticipation

Way way rested today.  Excellent slip last night and my lazy Sunday has been great.  Today the DC  was all about dealing with work stress and using the practice as a place to calm the mind which allows you to approach the stress from a place of acceptance.  The relaxed mind acts as a reset from stress and gives you a moment to recharge and when you are done you feel like dealing with stress with more energy in your tank makes the stress easier to deal with.  This practice gives you the tools to work with stress while you are in the middle of it – even if it’s just a minute meditation.  Today the DT was all about distractions.  How to accept distractions as being a part of being human.  In practice we get distracted and we work our way back to practice; which is all part of the mediation process.  This practice allows you to accept distractions as they are, which basically takes the power of a distraction away and puts it back in your pocket.  The DJ today was about the power of anticipation.  We have all been at work knowing that we have a few days left of work before we head off to vacation.  Our production typically increases over those last days leading up to vacation because of the endorphins released by anticipation.  This practice shows you that it doesn’t even have to be as large as a vacation that you are anticipating – it can be something that you are looking forward to be doing just later today.  Perhaps it’s a meal you are looking forward to, or a drink you are going to have a with a friend, or a book you are doing to curly up with later.  It’s proven that anticipating many small things carry the same impact as the anticipation as the larger evens you are anticipation.
