SIT #296-2026 Feb 16
it’s family day here so another day off. Lazy day again with hopefully lots of learning and being better on my own time. Today the DC was about Heartbreak. This sit doesn’t claim to fix a broken heart, but what it does do it center you in the hear and now and allow you to view the impacts of a broken heart from a save non reactive position. This practice helps in the effort to accept the broken heart and all the feeling that come with it – accepting it and being in it takes away the sharp pain that it brings. Like taking away it’s control over you. The practice then helps you work through those feelings by encapsulating them with acceptance and understanding. Today the DT today was about the “Under-Bloom”. The idea that your thoughts are like leaves on the forest floor and when you pick some up you realize that underneath them are even more leaves, more compact and dense, and wet and thick. Like how your thoughts start creeping in during practice and when accepting them and moving back to center then other thoughts creep in that are deeper and more impactful than the first ones. Like going down a rabbit hole of thoughts and feelings. This practice helps you realize that and accept it which strengthens you equanimity. The DJ today was all about strengthening your observation skills through the meditation practice. It helps you see where you may be lacking in observation and or where you should observe less because it doesn’t serve you well enough. It was a good Sit day today. @Calm www.calm.com
