SIT #306-2026 Feb 26 – Elephants and Space Caves
Home day yay! Early morning felt good with an immediate quick high intensity work out. Today the DC was all about body image and how we see ourselves and how that can impact us. This practice helps you center and hit flow and from there you look at yourself from a distance. You can see where your body image has any negative impacts to yourself. You can see it and accept it as is and lessen that impact by allowing it to be there. Equanimity helps you allow for acceptance of yourself. The DT today was about the Space Cave. A common practice for the Daily Trip. We did this practice during sits #41-2024 July 13 and #117-2025 Apr 25. It’s the practice of being centered in your flow and expanding you senses base the space that you are currently in. The practice of being so in tune with the flow that you feel you could hear a pin drop on the other side of the planet. This practice makes you feel aware of where you are as well as aware of how much is also here too; strengthening your acceptance of it all. The DJ today was about what you vantage point is and how people can have different vantage points on the same subject can result in the opinion on what they see. Elephants are a common subject in practice and the DJ used one as a example of different vantage points coming to different conclusions while all about the same subject. We discussed this during the sit on #88-2025 Mar 11. The blind men lay their hands on an elephant. One describes his vantage point of being a rough tough wall so he must be at a building; the next blindman says he feels this giant snake and everyone should be careful; the next blindman says he feels a skinny rope with a tufted end so he must be on a ranch with horses and ranch hands. This shows how different vantage points can result in different paradigms for different people. This practice helps you accept all that as a practice off the mat that can work in to accepting someone’s opinion knowing that their vantage point could be different.
