SIT #315-2026 Mar 07 – Trusting Gratification

I had a bit of an upset stomach last night and ended up sleeping late.  The DC today was about having self trust.  It was about being in tune with yourself and giving yourself the space to make sure you improve and complete all those little promises you make to yourself.  For example “I’m so going to read tonight before I got to bed”.  Then you don’t and you just go to sleep – that break of a promise has an impact on your self trust.  But when you pull through and do what you promised then your self trust grows and as a result you gain confidence about your abilities overall.  The DT today was about staying the course.  It was about getting in the flow and staying there.  It was about consistent effort albeit that it might seem small at the time, over time the results are tremendous.  Like a silk scarf dragging across a mountain top – over time the scarf will carve out a valley.  The DJ today was about how to delay gratification for the right choice in your life.  No, you don’t feel like going to the gym right, but you know the right choice is to go but you also have the option of sitting on the couch and eating chips.  The chips sound great right now – the gym is the right choice with long term gratification.  This practice gives you some tools to flip that switch and making the effort to make the right choice easier on your brain.
