SIT #317-2026 Mar 09 – Ubuntu Mentors

Still not feeling 100%. Today the DC was about the Zulu work Ubuntu. The word summarizes human interconnectedness and compassion for community. It is the idea that “I am because we are”. This practice works to increase your awareness of how interconnected we all are which lowers the feeling of being alone. The DT today took from the DC and worked on spreading your compassion around in a community. It looked at how spreading care among others returns care to you. This was also a good practice in getting centered in such a large world. The DJ today was about reverse mentorship. An act of where you ask someone (or something) to be your mentor who typically wouldn’t be considered as such. For example – a CEO asking a Controller in a specific department to be their mentor so that they can learn how the department works, and how perhaps being a woman inside the company works, or perhaps how someone in that position works throughout. A mentor doesn’t just have to be someone you look up to and strive to be – it can be a arrangement where learning and growth of knowledge is the goal. All good practices today.
